CCA Statement on the Senate’s Inclusion of the Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Act Funding in the Current Draft HEALS Act

Jul 28, 2020
Statement by CCA President & CEO Steven K. Berry: “I am very pleased the Senate has included funding for the Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Reimbursement Program in the draft HEALS Act released yesterday. Maintaining connectivity has proven absolutely essential throughout the coronavirus pandemic, and this marks a critical step to not only preserve and expand connectivity, but to do so using trusted network elements. This is not only a pandemic issue; it is a national security issue. The Senate’s proposal mirrors the inclusion of $1 billion in emergency spending for this program offered in the House appropriations bill, and CCA looks forward to continued work with Congress to ensure the bipartisan support for the reimbursement fund is realized.”
