Statement by CCA on the letter to House appropriators on the Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Reimbursement Program

“CCA thanks Congressional Spectrum Caucus co-chairs Doris Matsui and Brett Guthrie for their bipartisan letter to House appropriators urging additional funding for the Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Reimbursement Program. Affected carriers must have appropriate resources to remove and replace untrusted network equipment without disrupting service or negatively impacting their customers. The appropriated amount of $1.9 billion falls well short of the FCC’s reported gross cost estimate demand, and CCA fully supports providing additional resources to give carriers the certainty they need to execute their plans and ensure the country’s telecommunications networks are secure.”
