Statement by CCA President & CEO Steven K. Berry: “CCA fully supports the re-confirmation of FCC Commissioner Mike O’Rielly for another term at the Commission, and I thank Chairman Wicker, Ranking Member Cantwell, and the entire Senate Commerce Committee for holding today’s nomination hearing. Commissioner O’Rielly has a deep understanding of competitive policy issues and has always been willing to meet with and listen to competitive carriers’ concerns. I welcome his comments today that he will commit to not move forward with the 5G Fund until the FCC completes new coverage maps as required by the Broadband DATA Act. Commissioner O’Rielly clearly understands the need to ensure all Americans, particularly those in rural areas, have access to critical mobile broadband services, and I urge his swift confirmation for a second term.”
