May 28, 2025
Washington, D.C. – Competitive Carriers Association (CCA) applauds the re-launch of the Congressional Rural Broadband Caucus, co-chaired by Reps. Rob Wittman (R-VA-01), Dave Taylor (R-OH-02), Angie Craig (D-MN-02), James E. Clyburn (D-SC-06), Bob Latta (R-OH-05), and Teresa Leger Fernández (D-NM-03). CCA commends these lawmakers for their leadership and commitment to closing the digital divide. “The Congressional Rural Broadband Caucus has served as an essential voice for rural America, and we are encouraged to see its re-launch with strong bipartisan support,” said CCA President and CEO Tim Donovan. “We thank Reps. Wittman, Taylor, Craig, Clyburn, Latta, and Fernández and look forward to working together to bring reliable, affordable, high-speed internet to more rural Americans. Connectivity is a lifeline for rural communities—supporting education, agriculture, healthcare, public safety, and economic opportunity. At a time when several critical policies will shape the future of rural connectivity, we appreciate the Caucus’s renewed focus on advancing policies empowering rural carriers to build and sustain robust networks for their communities.” For more information about CCA and its policy priorities, please visit ccamobile.org . ### About Competitive Carriers Association Competitive Carriers Association (CCA) is the leading association for competitive communications service providers and stakeholders across the United States. Statement by CCA President & CEO Tim Donovan on FCC Spectrum Auction Authority

May 14, 2025
Washington, D.C. – Competitive Carriers Association President and CEO Tim Donovan made the following statement regarding the House Energy & Commerce Committee markup today: “CCA has long urged Congress to restore the Federal Communication Commission's (FCC) authority to conduct spectrum auctions, a critical tool for expanding wireless access and meeting growing consumer demand. CCA members rely on spectrum — particularly mid-band spectrum that offers a balance of coverage and capacity — to deploy and enhance services, especially in rural and underserved areas. Reinstating auction authority is essential to ensuring the United States maintains its global leadership in next-generation wireless technologies. CCA supports continued congressional efforts to reinstate this authority and stands ready to work with lawmakers to advance policies that promote innovation, connectivity, and competition.” For more information about CCA and its policy priorities, please visit ccamobile.org . ### About Competitive Carriers Association Competitive Carriers Association (CCA) is the leading association for competitive communications service providers and stakeholders across the United States.
